In Yanesen there are lots of narrow streets. Sometimes really good shops are located on these narrow streets. They seem like refusing lots of guests who don't know the real value and have interest in only shops widely known. They seem like waiting for the guests who really understand the quality they provide with utmost care and hospitality.
Soradaki is such a secret sweet shop.
The shop is hardly found if you overlooked its pink banner which is hung along the cozy Yanaka Ginza street.
Turn right at the end of this narrow street you will find Soradaki.
The lady owner of Soradaki does everything by herself. She wakes up 5 AM every day to prepare sweets, which require a lot of efforts because she make them from real beans and so on. Then she opens the shop only weekend. She closes the shop when all sweets she prepared are sold out.
Although there are not wide variety, each sweets are carefully made using season's ingredients.
While having Japanese traditional sweet looks, some of them also have western sweets taste, like apple pie because she uses some of western ingredients such as cinnamon.
Amazing good taste!!!
Soradaki also features sophisticated interior mixing modern and traditional, Japanese and western culture.
Unfortunately the shop doesn't have any seat.
But don't worry!!
You can taste the sweets sitting on the bar in front of the shop. Some guests call it as a balance beam. Ha ha ha...
